Understand what GEO means, how it connects to SEO and what a useful first investment looks like for a business that wants to be considered in AI answers.

KJ King’s perspective on how conversational discovery could change business recognition, customer relationships and the value of useful public knowledge.
I see Generative Engine Optimization as the next big thing in business discovery because the customer’s starting point can become a conversation. People can describe a need, ask follow-up questions and compare approaches before they visit a business website. My view is that companies should prepare for that journey now.
This is my strategic outlook, not a forecast that every customer will abandon traditional search. ChatGPT already offers web research with source links, and Google provides generative search experiences. Those capabilities create a practical reason to prepare, even though their eventual share of customer acquisition is uncertain.
I want a business to be known for an answer it can substantiate. A statement that we build software is a beginning. A guide showing how intake, permissions, customer updates and staff approvals fit together helps a buyer understand what we actually solve. The explanation makes the expertise more concrete.
That changes the content question from what can we say about ourselves to what does our customer need to understand? A company can publish useful comparisons, documented examples and implementation guidance while keeping the service invitation clear. It should not invent proof, inflate results or repeat its name throughout every paragraph.
My approach connects public knowledge with the software that supports the customer relationship. The resource center explains the work. The website gives a visitor a clear next step. A customer portal helps the team deliver documents, progress updates and service after an engagement begins.
That connection matters because getting considered is only part of the journey. A strong answer followed by confusing intake or missed follow-up can lose a promising relationship. The platform should help the team act on interest and learn which questions deserve a clearer public explanation.
Original material, editorial judgment and a useful measurement history are built through repeated work. I would rather develop those habits early than wait for a competitor’s visibility to become the reason for an urgent project. I also expect stronger competition for attention to increase the importance of distinctive content; that is a planning judgment, not measured proof of future prices.
Start with one service and a manageable group of questions. KonnectOS can help connect the content, website and workflow plan. Begin with an analysis, agree on the work and build the evidence for the next decision. Starting today creates preparation time; it does not buy control over an AI platform’s recommendations.
It is KJ King’s strategic perspective. The future pace of adoption, competition and customer behavior remains uncertain; no business outcome is guaranteed.
Start with the website analysis and request a GEO planning discussion. Bring your priority services, common customer questions and current website or software limitations.
